President / Owner
Bill Reeves is the Founder of The WTA Group. He has extensive experience in the Christian product industry since 1988 in Christian retail roles, then with Word Entertainment/Warner in distribution support for recording artists such as Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. At Big Idea Productions, Bill led Christian retail product licensing and distribution for the successful VeggieTales® brand and worked on the theatrical release of Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie. During his tenure at Thomas Nelson Publishers/HarperCollins he served as Executive Producer of several children’s video properties, including Max Lucado's “Hermie & Friends”® series. As VP of Marketing for Propeller Consulting, he participated in the marketing launches of leading faith-based films such as, Fireproof, Courageous and Soul Surfer and led the consumer products campaigns for the Kendrick Brothers’ films, including the New York Times #1 best-selling book, The Love Dare, and many other charting books. In 2009, Bill launched The WTA Group to develop his business where he has led the marketing campaigns for such films as 90 Minutes in Heaven, The Ultimate Life, and God’s Not Dead and the agency has steered the release of films such as Heaven is for Real and War Room.
Partner / Owner
Erik Weir is Partner at The WTA Group and is currently Founder, President and CEO of WCM Global Wealth which seeks to deliver the highest quality advice and money management for high net worth investors. Erik joined Merrill Lynch in 1989, followed by his role at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette as a Senior Vice President providing money management services to various founders of technology companies. He opened Weir Capital Management, LLC in 1999, developing a global client base for financial solutions, twice named one of the 25 fastest growing companies in South Carolina by the state’s Chamber of Commerce before launching WCM Global Wealth in 2011.
Senior VP of Marketing
Kris Fuhr is an elite graduate of West Point and spent seven years as an airborne qualified Army intelligence officer. Armed with an MBA from Boston University, she joined Kraft Foods in 1991 as a Brand Manager, where she won the Philip Morris Chairman's Award. While at Big Idea Productions in 1999, she led the marketing of Jonah a VeggieTales® Movie before joining Provident Films/Sony. Kris led her company, Movie Gal Marketing to successful film campaigns including Heaven is for Real before coming to The WTA Group. Kris has eight top ten theatrical openings to her credit, including Fireproof, Courageous and the recently released War Room, which was the #1 movie in America. She has also led multiple faith-based marketing efforts for films such as The Chronicles of Narnia, The Drop Box and Soul Surfer and has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NPR and other major news outlets.
VP of International Business and Marketing
Lisa M. Jean brings a broad range of skills and expertise to the WTA Group. She is an experienced entertainment branding, marketing and distribution executive with strong track records at both Universal and Sony Pictures. She was instrumental in launching AFFIRM FILMS, a faith-based film label leading to theatrical successes with Soul Surfer, Courageous and Fireproof. In the independent film world, she helped drive the successful U.S. and international marketing campaigns for hit films such as God’s Not Dead, God's Not Dead 2, Do You Believe? and Woodlawn. She is also a Co-Producer on An Interview With God.
VP of Distribution Services
Dave Mechem has more than 25 years experience in home entertainment sales and retail marketing and has held key positions with Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Turner Broadcasting and Ingram Entertainment. He has worked with key accounts across all channels from mass, club, grocery, e-commerce, rental, distribution and Christian retail. Dave led the home entertainment sales and promotion of AFFIRM Films titles into the general and Christian retail markets and guided the release plans for To Save A Life, Soul Surfer, Courageous, Heaven Is For Real and Moms’ Night Out among others. Since joining The WTA Group, Dave has consulted with Pure Flix Entertainment on over 20 home entertainment releases including God’s Not Dead, Do You Believe?, Unbroken and Woodlawn.
Chief Operating Officer
Brian Mitchell brings to The WTA Group extensive entertainment industry experience beginning in 1986 in radio broadcast roles, and then record executive leadership positions at Provident/Sony and Capitol/Universal, including General Manager of Essential Records, launching artists such as Jars of Clay and Third Day. While at Thomas Nelson Publishers/HarperCollins as Vice President of Marketing, he led multiple book imprints to 14 New York Times bestselling books from authors such as William J. Bennett, Michael Savage and Bill Cosby. Mitchell served at Big Idea Entertainment/DreamWorks Animation as Vice President of Marketing and Licensing for the VeggieTales® brand before joining The WTA Group in 2013. In his current role as Chief Operating Officer, he develops business strategies and plans while also leading the literary and consumer products licensing initiatives for some of the top grossing faith-based films including, the God’s Not Dead franchise and War Room. In addition, Mitchell contributes his marketing expertise to theatrical, home video, and digital distribution campaigns.
Director of Marketing
Laura Beth Peters brings to The WTA Group film and TV marketing expertise as Marketing Director. She led media buying and digital strategy at Propeller, LLC since 2008. She was an integral part of the team launching the television programs When Calls the Heart and The American Bible Challenge, feature films such as Courageous and Soul Surfer and has a focused expertise in grassroots marketing methods in the digital space. As leader of the largest faith-based blogger network, she managed 45 campaigns/year for clients seeking influencer review and consumer exposure for their products. Laura Beth serves in overseeing and executing campaign initiatives for WTA clients with the utmost excellence.
Anita Williams has more than 25 years of organizational and administrative expertise in the entertainment industry, which began at Integrity Music, where she managed the production schedule and live recording events for artists such as Don Moen, Marty Nystrom, and Paul Baloche. During her tenure at Word Entertainment/Warner Music Group, Anita assisted the Executive Vice President of Distribution and organized sales events for the distribution team surrounding the album releases of top-selling artists such as Amy Grant, Randy Travis, Point of Grace, MercyMe and others. Anita joined as Administrative Assistant at The WTA Group in 2012, coordinating the company's accounting, royalty administration, and business affairs processes.
Jim McBride joined the staff of Sherwood Baptist Church in 2000 and has served as the executive pastor overseeing operations, church staff, finances and Men’s Ministry since 2003. He is an executive producer of the films released by Sherwood Pictures, including Courageous, Fireproof, Facing the Giants, and Flywheel. Jim has also worked for Coca-Cola fifteen years and served in the U. S. Marine Corps for six years. Jim and his wife, Sheila, have been married for 28 years. Jim is a valuable partner of the WTA Group with the Kendrick Brothers films and products in addition to other clients and projects.
Krystal Gorte joined the WTA group in 2016. Formerly an Assistant Marketing Director for Five & Two Pictures, she coordinated advertising placements and managed relationships with influential leaders for endorsements and promotions. She worked for Dun & Bradstreet for nearly thirteen years in sales and sales management roles. Additionally, Krystal has worked as a freelance marketing consultant and managed group sales for theatrical events.
Danielle Allen is a graduate from Liberty University with a degree in Cinematic Arts. Her journey with The WTA Group first started from an internship where she assisted in the theatrical marketing campaign for Priceless. Additionally, her production experience includes working as an Assistant Production Coordinator on Extraordinary and producing five short films in her time at Liberty University. As Marketing Coordinator at WTA, Danielle assists in theatrical marketing campaigns as well as home entertainment and consumer product sales and marketing initiatives.
